ANN MCGEOWN LEADERSHIP AWARD 2010
Ann McGeown celebrates over 30 years of dedication and service to The Participation House Project. In November 1977, Mrs. McGeown first joined the PH Board as Treasurer and became Vice President in 1983. She assumed the role of President in 1984 and Treasurer again in 1988. She held two positions until September 2000. Still remaining as President until September 2001, she later assumed the role of Past President. She currently holds this position on the PH Board of Directors.
There have been many fundraising initiatives over several years that Mrs. McGeown has given her time and energy to. She supports the Oshawa Senior Citizens Centres and her local parish tirelessly. It was because of her efforts in 1993, that PH was able to obtain a building on St. Gertrude's property for their administrative offices. Ph had services operating from that location lasting several years.
In 2009, The Participation House Project created the Ann McGeown Leadership Award to recognize Mrs. McGeown's long-standing commitment, dedication and hard work to the organization, the people it serves and the community. We honour Mrs. McGeown each year by presenting an annual award to an 'Employee of the Year', who has demonstrated and personified the above qualities.
Congratulations to this year's recipient: Lisa Johnson for her dedication and committment to PH!
