Participation House Project nominated Grant Hedges, PH Board of Director, for a Volunteer Citizenship Award to recognize his outstanding contributions to his community, to his church and to Participation House. Board Members and staff attended the EmployAbility Gala last evening, in Whitby, in honour of Grant's nomination.
We are absolutely delighted to announce that Grant was selected, from three very well-deserving nominees, to receive the 2010 Volunteer Citizenship Award from the Durham Region Employment Network! The award was presented by Carol Edwards, ED for DREN and by Ken Shaw, the MC for the awards. Ken read about Grant's many contributions in his community, with special mention of his 20 years of unwavering service to PH.
Grant gave a very moving thank you speech. His smile was a mile wide and we could not be happier for him in receiving this wonderful recognition.
