HIGHLIGHTS FROM OUR 36th ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
On behalf of The Participation House Project (Durham Region) a very special, 'big thank you' to all that attended the 36th Annual General Meeting at the Port of Whitby Marina on September 22nd, 2011.
The theme for the evening was 'Performance with Purpose'. The tone for the evening was set by the Board Chair's address and by the Executive Director's report.
Two key factors highlighted the evening. First, the announcement of building community strength through partnership that will provide and promote a barrier free world inspiring individuals to live their dream.
Deborah Bright, President and CEO, Abilities Centre, announced the forthcoming partnership with The Participation House Project (Durham Region). Her message included their VISION, Guiding Principles and the Power of Partnerships...a few to mention:
Participation House and the Abilities Centre will work hand-in-hand by developing:
Ø Multi-level Partnership;
Ø Leveraging Expertise and Resources;
Ø Expanding service reach;
Ø Developing new programs;
Ø Learning from all partners;
Secondly, a video that highlighted accomplishments of our internal and external individuals, that utilize many programs that we offer. The individuals were so proud to share how our programs have helped them to achieve:
Ø Social skills
Ø Confidence
Ø Independence
Ø Community involvement
'PH is the place to be; PH is Opportunity'
