The Gathering Place – Discovering Durham Region while building social connections.
This community participation program focuses on developing meaningful relationships while connecting people to their community. This small group-based opportunity is intent for those who are interested in developing their social skills, growing their network of friends, and increasing their independence while exploring their community, and what it has to offer through the support and guidance of PH staff.

Small Group Support: A ratio of support is one staff to five participants

Cost: Will be determined based on interest/availability
Intake: Ongoing based on availability
This program’s focus is on being actively engaged in the community. Participants will explore, participate, and connect with their community with the support of a PH staff.

Life Readiness Program (LRP)
The Life Readiness Program (LRP) is a community-based program. Offered out of the Residences at Durham College, it is an overnight experience where participants arrive at 9:00am on the Monday and depart on the Friday at 4:30pm.
This program focuses on independent living skills through supported learning opportunities and practical real-life experiences.
Program: 1 Week Summer Respite Program
Support Model:
The ratio for support for this program is one staff for six participants.
Dates: July 1st-5th, July 8th-12th, July 15th-19th, July 22nd-26th
*Each participant will be assigned one week only!
